CIBBL - Year Two, Spring - Albion and Norsca
Round 1
Fimir vs Giant
Misty Isle Gators vs Mount Thug Bonegrinders

First game for both teams. Immediately there were problems pre-match as the Fimir are fairly new to Blood Bowl they had made a pitch but didn't construct a stand for spectators since they were not expecting lots of visiting fans. Boy were they in for a surprise. As a massive 60.000 strong army of fans arrived at the edge of the town. Luckily for the Fimir the Giants were so kind to offer some assistance. They quickly threw up some stands by moving some ancient rock formations. At least their pixie fans won't have wingfatigue after the game.

So with the Giants receiving and the whole audience on their side a drop of sweat is rolling down Balors forehead. "What have I've gotten myself into now." He mumbles to himself. "At least nobody of the tribe is here to see me in this silly armor. Still would have at least expected to see some curious Shearls, but nothing. They will mock me for this I'm sure. Oh my reign the things I do to please you." Learing from his helmet he can see the Giants getting ready to begin their drive. But suddenly he gets knocked down the ground by a massive wave of pixies who invade the pitch en masse. Appearently the makeshift stands was still settling in to place and created a panic amongst Bonegrinder fans. After the dust settled one pixie and Giant lay stunned but Balor and five more players are stunned on the Gators' team. Balors defensive plans look ruined.

Luckily Moloch the Terrible was not stunned and he manages with some assists to knock out Zorguu Boulderhead a giant in his first turn. 'Grinders have the ball and are moving centerfield. Fimm Warrior Tethra has understood this new game quite quickly, he blitzes a pixie in scoring position and sents him to the casualty box badly hurt. Two turns in, two man advantage Fimirs. A few turns later the pixies are under pressure and a failed dodge means a loose ball. Fimirs cant capitalize and Balor get knocked out by Rallax Dwarfeater and pixie Finezia recovers the ball. A 3d block on her results in pushbacks and Fimirs choose not to reroll. A scary going away from the 0-1 she swiflty runs in the TD. Mount Thug Bonegrinders leading 0-1 Turn 6.

Balor still not fully recovered will stay out aswell as the ko'd giant.
With 3 turns left to score and only our summoned daemon Biròq with some trustworthy agility and one reroll, tying at halftime will be hard.

Good thing she manages to pickup without squandering the reroll. Unfortuonately next turn she uses one for a needed going for it. We choose not the do a second one and then realize she is one square short of scoring.
But then with a bit of luck the pixies on the Bonegrinders team get a little block happy. And a 1d push gives the Fimirs a chance to do some chainpushing and move Biròq that desired one square. Luckily she doesn't trip and goes for it into the endzone. 1-1 Half Time.

Second half, Gators to receive, Zorguu and Balor both return afresh from the ko box. Both teams eleven strong again. Now the target for the blitz this first turn is Zorguu again, hoping he is weakened, he goes down but even with a boot to the massive skull he only gets stunned.
Biròq failes the pickup and it bounces into the hands of Tethra who seems to have a nose for this game. Turn three a triple skull on the blitz forced us to use a reroll. And offcourse Tethra who needed a going to get out of harms way failed. Cant get everything right first time I guess. Luckily for the Fimir a quick use of reroll by the Giants forces the pixies to just put tacklezones on the ball. And they get a bonehead on their blitz. With some luck we can blitz a pixie on the ball which scatters perfectly for our Daemon to pick up. Then when in the 'Grinders fourth turn 3 Giants go Bonehead it looks all clear to pass their defence. We just need to blitz free the ballcarrier. Odracon manages to roll the second trip skull which we luckily could reroll. The resulting pow badly hurts another pixie Ambewift. We manage to stall as a pixiebomb fails to hit target we score in our turn 8.

By now all the commotion had lured some Fimir out of their nests. And although most still didn't understand the rules, one thing was sure, they were winning. And that deserved cheering on. Apparently of the 5000 newborn Gator fans who showed one got the concept real good. As a rock came hurling towards Zorguu you could hear fans holing their breath. It was mearly a stun. Those are some really Thick Skulls. A good kick meant it was hard for a Throw-Team-Mate action and so came to pass this first game in the Albion and Norsca region.

Later Balor was heard commenting the 'Grinders; "I tells ya, a pixie is harder to swat than a fly, my tail will be stiff from trying to swipe them little buggers! And I'm not looking forward meeting those giants of theirs a couple of skills later."
