“1-1 going into the second half, with World Leader Pretence receiving the kick. We picked up the ball and started heading forwards, but a few turns in Casualties R Us managed to floor the ball carrier, and the bounce was caught by one of their trees!
Last turn of normal time for WLP and, Troubled Elbow (CRU) has the ball (MA6 & Sure Feet) with 8 squares to go. There are a few flings in scoring distance (WLP are playing for overtime now as they can't score) so, with the intention of putting some TZs around the ball carrier they threw a block on the closest fling, skull/both down... Reroll gave the same... Open to score.
With the WLP fans (and coach) shouting for Troubled Elbow to trip, he waltzed into the end zone, stumbled, but, relying on sure feet, then crashed to the ground to send the match into overtime!
The fans that had been leaving suddenly returned to their seats. WLP won the toss and received and managed to reduce the fling numbers of CRU enough to move their way forward and take the win, with 4 out of 5 trees having taken root, but there was still some uncertainty as CRU freed the ball, but the numbers game then made it too much for them.
Very hard game (but lots of fun)”
