“We did a long kick at the start of the match and tried to press. But Nurgle Poison formed around the carrier. A rotter and then an Elf were ko'd. We then were sick of Tentacles causing problems so got the Beast down and did a gang foul which did the job and KO'd it. Very surprisingly the Nurgle side were so vexed by this they decided not to advance for the next 4 turns at all. Rather protecting the carrier than trying to score. So with a successful defence and 0-0 at half-time, plus the Beast still being ko'd, it looked great for at the very least a draw today and that Nurgle Poison had blown their win chance considering how good the Elf offence is.
But second half it went incredibly wrong. We powed one player and could only both down with another. Syriux X snaked a foul appearance blitz roll with rr. Then Lorathmir snaked the pickup! We then had Elves left in contact and the apo had to come out to rescue Galad from serious injury. Galadriel then snaked a dodge and was stunned at the start of turn 2. So that was 3 snakes in a row. A 1 in 44656 chance sequence! Even then the Nurgle still hadn't got to the ball though they did a couple of stuns and a rotter got sent to the reserves for fouling. We were down to 9 players but Teclis got the ball to Lorello. It seemed maybe we could try and advance but Lorathmir was ko'd and then Lorello started and ended the next turn by just pushing a Beastman in a blitz and then snaking the dodge! This was a horror show. Our carrier was then stunned but still the Nurgle didn't rush to the ball. Death or Glory could see a chance, so he started the turn and ....snaked the dodge! The incompetence had gone too far now. It seemed Nurgle Poison didn't want to score but they would have no option with us leaving the ball for them. Fredderick picked up but one side was left unprotected and Speed Kills smashed him down. Death or Glory tried to step near the ball but failed a gfi. So Fredderick got the ball and they finally scored. In the last moments we cas'd the Beast in a gang foul but it regenerated.
The Elves go off in disgrace and the crowd wonder what happened at half-time that angered Nuffle so much after a good start.”
