The Gardeners is an experienced squad and had a full line-up with a couple of very capable pestigor ballhandlers. The 2 dead slaangors from the pre-season game vs. The Von Carstein team could have been really useful today.
Team captain Lewdshade tried to bolster the team and the hired star player Angus Porterhouse tried to induce some calm into the rookie players minds. He’s a really civilized and well-behaved minotaur and the moral of the team grew.
The Nurglers hit them hard from the get-go and had no problems
hospitalizing a couple of slaves early on. Miscommunication and a crucial tactical error by the coach (a major missclick) gave The Gardeners an early lead. The Tricksters tried to fight back but even deep in the back of their on half the slaves dropped the ball like amateurs. A semi-successful cage crawled over the LOS but was halted by the brute Gardeners. Lewdshade did rip one of the experienced Pestigors open but the pesties gooey smelly intestines didn’t improve his game.
The Tricksters lined up again for the 2nd half and the line of command was muddied even more when a journeyman on the LOS couldn’t contain his urges for stardom and caught the High Kick. Standing right in front of the Beast of Nurgle and 2 warriors...
The ballhandler was hit and eventually the Gardeners very agile pesti Syphidemis sprang away with the ball. Maybe he was a bit to eager - Richter Kless dodged around the Beast and clawed the pestigor good and picked up the loose ball. Now the most intriuging part of the Tricksters offense was set in motion and with a crucial blitz by Porterhouse they got through. Lewdshade even injured a 2nd player and everything looked like this would become a draw. But when they were within scoring range the Slaanesh warriors got into an argument about who would be the perfect person to equalize (unnessacery hand-off to spread out SPPs...) and the ball was dropped. Nuffles Will. Ref blew his whistle and that was that. 0-1 loss.
