#8 Gentlebreeze Dancingbamboo – Broken Jaw (MNG)
#13 Underwatered Houseplant – Dead (RIP)
#18 Nicholas Hardstone – Smashed Hand (MNG)
A comfortable win for TheGe, and revenge for our last match, which was a little bit one-sided in my favour.

It began well enough for the wood elves, with a good steady advance into the opposing side of the pitch, but there were too many defenders to allow anyone to remain free to receive the pass and it required one of the linemen to blitz/dodge and plant himself in the endzone and wait for the long bomb.

Yes, I know this is exactly the sort of play I said I wouldn't be doing with this team from now on, but honestly, it was the best option in the circumstances. So the thrower tucked himself in behind the tree and threw a pass the the whole length of the opposing side of the field. Boom!

After that, I began to suffer, with the humans being too strong to stop and too tough to injure. I did what I could, but mostly that was just putting people in tackle zones and then being knocked over on the following turn. So there was not really any way for me to stop the humans scoring, and then scoring again after the reset, and taking out a few of my players along the way.

And then there was a touchback, and with most of the second half still available, I thought I would give it to the tree. He then promptly blitzed and went for it twice and sat in something like a one-sided cage (a wall, perhaps). This was never going to keep the humans out for long, but I did still have the ball at the end of their next turn, and although there was now no way the tree was going to get through them, even with break tackle, there was a chance for me to score.

A lucky 1-dice blitz freed up a lineman who ran into the endzone and then I was left with a choice, a 6+ pass with the tree, or a hand-off the the thrower (in a TZ) a dodge and then a 4+. It would have been epic with the tree, but I bottled out and went for the safer option. And wouldn't you know it, the thrower was intercepted. I bet the tree would have made it.

That led to another human touchdown, and then with nothing better to do on my final turn, I went for a long bomb, because why not?

So, 3 for 30 for the thrower and he picked up a strong arm afterwards. My plan to concentrate on the tree and not go with a passing game is falling apart after only two games. IT'S JUST SO MUCH FUN!

I bought two more linemen after the game, rather than a wardancer, as I think a wardancer would be too much of a blitz/foul magnet at this stage. But thanks to the death of a block lineman and a MNG on the catcher, I'm still saddled with four journeymen, so next game will be something of a mess, I suspect.

Let's go find out...
