But for me, there were only two of them that really mattered - my first and second attempts to pass the ball. In fact, my first touch of the ball didn't come until my turn 8, by which time I didn't really have enough players left to try for a one-turn TD, so I thought I'd just go for a long bomb because why not.

Next drive, I rush several players downfield, because the demon that is Archeoptl can only blitz one of them and I was relying on my ability to catch in a TZ and dodge out with pretty much anyone to give me the score.

So then there were a few turns of messing about, but the end result was that the Jungle Fighters scored again because not only could my thrower not throw, he also couldn't pick the ball up in two TZs (although I'll forgive him for that one as not many people can).

My final three turns was reduced to two by a riot and I made sure I got a completion on the first of them. I could have thrown another on the final turn, but unfortunately, there was a player within two go-for-its of the endzone and I just had to try for the score, even though he was a journeyman and would also have to make three dodges along the way...

So one pass for 7 yards is all I have to show for the game. Fortunately, I still out-passed Quaruk, who is an excellent player in many ways, but is no sort of passer. Maybe that's why he's an excellent player.

Anyway, I'm pleased to say that both apothecaries were used at exactly the right time, one to prevent an SI and one to prevent a death, so both coaches ended the game with just as many players as they started with.

I didn't lose any fans, and I did get enough gold to buy my second wardancer, so I'm starting to feel as if I have something like a proper team once more.
