“What an absolutely disastrous start to a game...

I received the first kick, and after some faultless dice, scored on the second turn. I then got a blitz on the following kick-off, blitzed with the tree and intercepted the dump-off - and although he was in no position to run in the score himself, he them handed-off to the catcher who did it for him.

Then I rolled another blitz, managed to get several players around the ball and caught the kick.

Fortunately for gamelsetlmatch, things started to go a little better for him at this point, otherwise the game would have degenerated into farce. As it was, it was about at this point that the wood elves started to fail their armour rolls and we were soon reduced to half a team. We kept trying, but all we really succeeded in doing was allowing the elven union to get in a few more dump-off passes before running in the score to end the half.

And the second half was more of the same. At one point I had seven in the KO box, along with the SI, and the tree had taken root, so I wasn't going to be doing much on defence, but nevertheless, it was still a lot of fun giving it a go and rolling some ludicrously improbable series of dice for no real result.

After the TD to level the scores, gamelsetlmatch was then granted a blitz of his own, and though the kick was too deep for him to reach, he did leave me with very few targets for the thrower, and none who could make it far enough downfield to be out of danger. So needless to say, the union got the ball back easily enough, and even though I then made my second interception of the game, there was no chance to prevent the union from scoring.

And the MA9 catcher stayed out for the final turn, so I didn't really set-up (my 5 players) expecting to try the one-turner...and then I rolled quick snap, of course! Still, if nothing else, it was a chance for one final long bomb.

But boy, was I outpaced today. Maybe not in yards passed, but in terms of completions, gamelsetlmatch managed 14! It's not quite the 50 he's looking for, but it's certainly a great achievement.

As for me, the star of the show was definitely Spiderplant Spiderplant, who picked up his second MVP in two games, notched-up and interception and now has 16 SPPs from two games. And I didn't even mind that he rolled a single for his skill, as he's going to need guard, multi-block and break tackle anyway.
