“Well, my first game back after a break of several months was somewhat shorter than I was expecting. Not quite sure why Illumini conceded here, except that things weren't looking good for a win for him.

Oh well, my sadness at ending the game so soon was tempered by the oodles of cash I was presented with as a result. I was able to buy a second wardancer and third catcher, to bring me almost up to full strength, and the tree and a lineman picked up skills as a result of their MVPs. And fans as well!

As for the game itself, I started with the ball, threw a long bomb for the first score on turn 2 and then had to play catch up on defence as almost the entire dark elf team ran past my central block of players and set up for their own 2-turn score. I ran everyone back to block the direct run to my end zone and unfortunately for Illumini, he wasn't able to break free. This led to him having a lot of players bunched up on the sidelines, and allowed me to surf the ball-carrier. The throw-in was very favourable to me, and at the end of my turn 6, I was in a safe position with a second score all but guaranteed before the half.

So unsurprisingly, not a great game for the passing stats, but I certainly can't complain as the result gives me a much better team, gets me back in the saddle, and gives me plenty of time now to go and make dinner before wifey gets back from work - which would have been a close-run thing if the game had run its full course!”
