What a great game that was. Tough, challenging, exciting. The dice were a little bit unfair at times, but at least they were unfair to both of us.

I won't bother going through the game turn by turn, because basically it was your typical elf vs elf game, but also because so much happened I can't remember it all. Watch the replay if you're interested.

Stand out moments for me are pretty much all the bad ones - I injured my own AG5 wardancer on a failed go for it, I wasted a turn by rolling a triple skull with the tree on the first block of the turn, and I bookended half-time with a pair of double failed catches, thereby reducing my passing total by 26 yards. Also, the tree just missed out on an interception thanks to the passer's safe throw.

On the plus side, no one died. Also, I picked up a couple of skills afterwards, so I was able to give the MB catcher block at last. I also rolled a double for a rookie lineman and rather than go for the ubiquitous guard I thought I'd try him with stand firm instead. Not sure why, except that maybe he'll do well standing beside the tree. But probably better once he's got block and dodge as well.

As for the other side of the field, Swampserpent had a great game. He began by skilling up his battered passer to legend. We were both hoping for a double, to allow him to get strong arm, but sadly it was only a single. However, as he's down to MA5, sure feet will no doubt come in handy!

Apart from that, it was (at least in my opinion) a fairly easy game for Swampserpent. He always had more players than me, and he always seemed to have the right ones in the right places at the right times. And it's a long time since I've been so out-passed - not in distance, perhaps, but what with all those quick passes for extra points, he came out with an impressive 11 throws. Nice going!

No time to write anything else now - real life is banging on the door!!

Great game.
