Week 1

Year 2 of the Miami Bloodbowl program found us slotted into the FBC Conference, home to several veteran teams of renown; opening week pitted us against one such team, the Flying Irish of Notre Dame. Can't say that the elves brought the luck of the Irish with them, as a lot of skulls were thrown and a third of their dodge attempts failed. Miami's defense did what they needed the first half, shutting down scoring lanes and forcing N.D. to make some risky plays, pushing their luck to fail. We closed the first half scoreless when we dropped a pass just outside of the endzone.

Second half we almost lost it all when a bumbled pick up attempt allowed the elves to get too close for comfort. Even after we recovered, the elves were in our backfield and constantly putting pressure on the ball. When the elves popped the ball loose they managed to recover and punt the ball closer to our endzone, where by they made an attempt to recover the ball, knocking it out of the back of the endzone. The ball was thrown in and came to a rest within range, at which point we finally got the offense engine in gear and made some headway towards the endzone, putting a point on the board. N.D. attempted to answer back but failed the OTTD attempt on a bad dodge.
