“Game 2, non-AQ season

Things overall didn't go as hoped in this match. UW went up turn 8 in the first after a pretty decent defense for the first 5 turns. That's when a pair of bodies left, and the Elven defense was harder to secure. Rodney played the end of the half exactly as he should have, giving me only a chance to mark the ball carrier, and hope for a failed dodge, which didn't happen. I also could not 1-turn at the end of the half.

Second half started with a Blitz. All the ag4 lept in the backfield, and basically offered me a very fast score, which I would have been happy to take, except....

I marked A FEW dudes, but not all of them, and then set off to pick it up with Zach Daniel (Safe Throw Thrower) and heave it to either open receiver with a Blitzer to escort them. What I hadn't counted on is rolling a 1 with Daniel on the throw. But wait! The Pass skill will save me! Well, it also offered me a 1, and there was the ball... on the ground... in the backfield.... with nobody else buy my Thrower around.

RD blocked him off the ball, KO'ing Daniel, and forcing me to come back and lose more precious time. He scored on turn 3.

I scored right away on t5, but I just simply ran out of both time and dudes to keep him out yet again, as Rodney's offensive set-ups and strategy were really excellent.

Rodney, you completely deserved that one, my friend. You coached an exellent game. Best of luck to UW going forward, as we look to our next opponent for some small bit of revenge.

3 more completions in this match, but one was a back lateral for -3, so we'll have to remind our squad that yards have to GO FORWARD to get into the passing books.... not backward.”
