The Wrestlers faced Dark Elves here. A smaller side and lacking a bench gave us hope. But with an agile leaping blitzer it looked like the Ogres would have to try the carrying work.

The Elves didn't mess around early. Two snots cas'd in two blitzes, and an early TD as they soon passed us by. But Tom Thumb did do a tasty gang foul on a blitzer. Apo work fixed the perm but he would still be out for a while. Tom was sent off by the ref to relax.

Kendo got the ball on our drive. We took it into the middle and slowly advanced. Some solid hitting, including Jim Breaks smashing an Elf's ankle kept us going. Along with some KOs. But snots were being swatted out like flies too. Including Legend Lucan being blitzed and badly hurt. Time was running out, but space was left and Big Daddy caught a handoff. He went full speed and scored an equalizer before half-time!

Their babes helped encourage all the ko'd Elves back to the lineup, but both our snots were left sleeping. 9v9 2nd half. Kendo again managed to pickup the ball. Soon after Haystacks did a ko after rr'ing a bonehead. But 3 other ogres, including Kendo, boneheaded too! We were left spread out. Kendo still in the backfield with snots. The Elves brought on the pressure. Kendo actually dodged away and also stood up to a -2db blitz. But just as we hoped to escape he wasn't protected enough, and was then brought down on a 2nd attempt. An Elf caught the scatter. Jim blitzed the ball down again and Les came down hoping to receive a handoff. But the snot fumbled off the pitch! That finished our challenge as the ball was thrown across by a dark fan and the Elves could escape for 2-1. Our hitting power had really diminished this half.

We did have a last TTM attempt, but ended in just a fumble.

In the end one of those matches where the Ogres performed solidly for a large chunk, but one of those group lapses just let it slip. Crucially we have enough cash to buy a 7th ogre after the match! A rare boon.

Go Ogres!
