A tense exciting final, and one which I should probably take time out from before writing a report from my perspective, but what the hell, here goes..

FIRST HALF
A sudden surge from the Jurassic Stark into Leadbelly's half, Coach BeanBelly was confident it would be stopped - but ran into Skulls and lost position.
The drive brawled its way to an end zone stall. So blodge runner Junior seized the initiative; dodging away from her Saurus minder and sacking the Skink ball carrier. The crowd threw it in towards the scrum as the clock ran down and the half ended.

SECOND HALF
LeadBelly had a slight numbers advantage in the second half and brawled away just over the halfway line, switching play up and down the pitch. Junior again seized the initiative and dodged away from her Crox companion, a decisive break to within six squares of the touchdown zone.

She was pushed up to the sideline by a Skink and Saurus.
A Slayer ran in to surf the Skink, and support arrived to give a 2D block on the Saurus: pushback > rerolled to bothdown. The moral here is (i)don't reroll pushback (ii)don't use reroll until absolutely critical. To which I say it felt pretty critical at the time. My feeling was at that moment a downed Saurus = Dwarf score next turn.

The Lizards fought well, with the ball exchanging hands a couple of times. The critical juncture came when a Longbeard blitzed into the Skink ball carrier only to Double Skull. A deft dodge, and a sprint downfield, and the game had slipped away from LeadBelly's grasp.

Well done MorgB, a fun final.

Gutted to have lost it but proud to have got there.
