A brutal match for the championship of the Land of the Dead division for Spring VI. Vultures were in the lead in points and both TDs and CAS, so a win or a tie would give them the championship, while Pride of Lybaras would need to win this match, to win the division. Alas, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, thus Everlasting Vultures of Settra won the division, and proved to be the best of the Khemrian teams for this season.

Pride of Lybaras went into the game as the underdog, and received copious amount of inducements to balance the scales. Once again, Ramtut III was hired to add his might to the team, as well as one wizard, who once again are seen on the stands, offering their spells for the teams to use. The last of the extra money was spent on bribes, to make sure that Terseh would stay on the pitch. Thelekhter had pretty much given up on Hopokom ever rising to the level of even a lowly skeleton, based on his actions in the previous games.

But something had changed. Maybe the old hero of the team, Emotmonb had paid a visit to his successor, maybe Hopokom has been replaced by another, similar skeleton. Nobody knows, but in this match the disgraced Necrotect was on a fouling spree. Managing to remove opposing players on almost every attempt. Sadly, he wasn't able to play for more than half of the game, but what a half that was.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the bomber, Terseh. Early in the game, while trying to clear a way for his teammates, he acted before most of the other players. His usually precise throwing was off this time, and worst of all, the bomb was caught by the opposing team! The nimble (for a skeleton) Catch-Ra of the Vultures caught the bomb, and threw it right back. This time the bomb wasn't caught, but instead exploded in the middle of the Lyrabarasians, ending their turn, and removing a couple of key players. This devastating misplay pretty much guaranteed a score for the Vultures, and at the end of the half, they crossed the TD line.

Second half started with the Pride on the offense, and a burning need to try and win the game, despite the 0-1 lead of the Vultures. Slowly, but surely, the ball was driven forward towards the goal.

Time and time again the Vultures managed to find some hole, from which to break through and attack Pemkheza carrying the ball. Each time the Stalker rose from the ground, scooped the ball back into it's hands and resumed the way towards the end of the pitch. In the end, it took the help of the wizard, and Pemkheza avoiding the tripwire that was surely there to tie the game at the last possible second.

All that was left was for the Vultures to play their final turn, which was about smashing skeletons on the line. It seemed like Ramtut was going to be the target of the gangfoul, but Thelekhter pleaded with the other coach, and reminded him that the Khemrian stars are few and far between, and that skeletons are in limitless supply.

Thanks to DatMonsta for the game. Apart from the terrible blunder with the bomber, the game was fun and exciting. And congratulations once again for claiming the championship this season. See you next year!
