“Second game of UI tournament, and perhaps the best showing ever for the Throwing gang. So many things went the flings' way on this glorious day, and Nuffle laughed.
Morg did his magic over and over, punching dorfs left and right. Also, thanks to Multiblock proud treeman #2 threw 21 blocks in 18 turns. Grab turned out to be awesome to reposition the dorfs between the big guys, and even after they rooted they kept beating up on the bearded guys.
Chef stole 2+2 rerolls, always good.
First time I ever used the wizard or saw it used; the Zap spell turned the would-be ball handling runner into a frog with no hands, turning a difficult play into a nigh-impossible one on turn 8.
Referee didn't mind the fling boots, and I had plenty of bribes left at the end
of the game.
Dauntless dorfs kept taking pot shots at the big fellows, and it worked about as often as expected (50-50), leading to a few turnovers which helped a lot.
Awesome and unexpected win for flings who didn't expect to make it past even the first round of the UI, much less to go on to the third round. Thanks Nuffle and thanks friendly Arktoris for the game!”

Was rather nervous about this one, despite the at face value a very probable win. I knew flings are great at TTM and this one would have Morg AND a +2ma +ag flying fling.
There were two possible strategies. 1) Let the flings do their TTM. Just ignore the trees and concentrate on wrapping around and beat the flings until you get to the main one. After the TTM, grind to a turn 8 score for 1-1. Then take 8 turns beating flings in second half and hopefully get "Someday" too then hoard the trees and Morg.
2) occupy the trees and morg, attacking them with dauntless dwarves, while other dwarves wrap around and get "Someday". With dwarves swarming the TTMers, they can't toss Someday.
Considering the number of apothecaries the flings had, plan #1 wasn't good. Someday will mostly survive. Had to try plan 2
Plan 2 just didn't take. Way too many failed dauntless rolls and somehow the death roller (which had juggernaut and could push trees out of the way) had to roll twice for ref ban despite still being in the reserve box.
But it still almost worked out. A blitz almost even things up for an OT game, Someday still pulled through and stole the ball away from two tackle zones and the trees hurled him to safety.
In the end, the dwarves made a great final TD, but it wasn't enough. 2-3...dwarves, nearly 1000TV higher, beaten by flings.
