So, my wood elves continue their unprecedented (and quite frankly, miraculous) run of good luck. Here it wasn't anything in particular, just a little bit here and there, when I needed it most, and yet again, strong armour. MarckusOfCamlan confessed to having made a couple of blunders along the way, but mostly he just couldn't get the wood elves off the field, and with my passing game being faultless today, there really wasn't much he could do about it.

I began in typical fashion, receiving and scoring a long bomb TD on turn 2. In reply, the dark elves came out strong on the left side of the field, setting up a great defensive position downfield that I would have been hard-pressed to break through to get to the ball-carrier. But unfortunately the AG6 witch fumbled the throw (as happens so often with AG6) and with his entire team down my end of the pitch, MarckusOfCamlan could do nothing to stop me sneaking in with my AG5 catcher to steal the ball, dodge away and pass for the score.

And then, on the following drive, almost exactly the same thing happened, except that it was an easy leap MarckusOfCamlan failed, rather than the pass. Oh, and he lost two players along the way, which certainly didn't help.

Finally though, the dark elves did manage two consecutive turns without any terrible dice and MarckusOfCamlan was able to end the half with a score. And receive the kick at the top of the second half...

...except that I rolled blitz and the kick was not only shallow, but also on the opposite side of the field to the majority of the dark elf team. So suddenly I had the ball in the hands of my thrower, with a good defence around him, and three catchers within scoring range. So it's a testament to MarckusOfCamlan's skill and determination that he was able to rescue the situation and end up with the ball on the far side of the field.

But his bad luck wasn't done with him quite yet. An easy pass to perfectly competent target who was then almost guaranteed an open field to a score was intercepted. By my tree! Now if that isn't unfair on the dark elves, I don't know what is.

I couldn't run it in as the tree had taken root, by I could easily hand off to the thrower for a long bomb. Which is exactly what I did for my fourth score.

And after that I don't really remember what happened, except that MarckusOfCamlan finally succeeded in breaking my armour - first a BH on a lineman, and then a death (fortunately healed by the apo) on a catcher. But it was a case of too little too late, and basically at this point I was just playing for stats and MarckusOfCamlan was playing for pride. Oh yes, and following on from my blitz, I rolled two Perfect Defences. Hard to play against that.

So Sensation came away with a massive haul of SPPs, resulting in four players skilling-up, including Spiderplant reaching legend with his casualty, interception and MVP. Only a single on the roll, but grab will be a useful enough addition to his skill-set, and honestly, he didn't really deserve another double, no matter how nice it would have been.

And an impressive game from Briskbreeze as well. Right now, he's a bit in the wilderness, having long-ago achieved the number three slot on the Highest Passing table and still being a good 1300 yards behind the number two, but a few more games like this will certainly speed things along.

And now my team is, I think, stronger than it's ever been - certainly for a long, long time. I have twelve players, and they all have at least one skill. Some, obviously, have a lot more. Can this run of luck continue, or am I cruising for a bruising?

Only time will tell.
