“The next day after playing the Groundhoppers we we were ready for another match. Well, what do you know, as no-one had moved on we were up for a rematch. The Slaan had fit another match in-between and unfortunately lost their skilled Blitzer.

There were some similarities to the first match. Again our Blitzers hit well. Not causing casualties this time but plenty of KOs (3 in 3 turns). And again their Slaan shenanigans got the ball down at times and threatened to give them the advantage. But our mighty blow hits were the difference.

First half we seemed to be in a great place with a solid cage, including Guards, but again our thrower was taken down. This time by a -2db wrestle. A catcher then leapt in and got the ball. He recently had learnt how to Hail Mary Pass. We had left no-one back so their receiver was joyous at seeing the ball thrown across the pitch in his sights. Fortunately our Blitzers could take him down. but when eventually one got to the ball he could just not get to it. Our thrower was far away and we just could not get that ball. Thankfully their ag4 who got close by just missed his chance to try and leap in and get it (mis-click). We could still try for an outrageous play forward.. but a double skulls foiled that idea.

So 2nd half it started level again. Their Half Mary fellow got to the back of the pitch, but foolishly didn't go far enough towards the other flank to get far enough from Blitzer Josef. Josef then tagged him and the catcher leapt badly and was ko'd! Josef could then stall out while the Slaan did a lot of desperate falling about and getting hit. Our guys then did some booting to amuse themselves. Josef's TD was the only SPPs made on either side, other than MVPs.
