#16 Zach Daniel – Groin Strain (MNG)
Season 35, Game 2 - OoC match *RIVALRY*

I elected to receive, hoping I'd score, and the sun would do a number on the rats. The sun did a number, but it hurt me a bit more.

I had multiple chances in this match, but it was just not supposed to be for me. An AG5 Thrower with Safe Throw tosses an INT. Later, a Dump Off player throws another INT. One dodge to make at the end of the first to hand a ball off for a throw to go up 2-1 turns into a failed dodge, and it's 2-1 the other way to start the 2nd.

From there, it just never came together. Zach Daniel gets blind-sided (a clearly illegal hit, which we'll be memo'ing the Commissioner's Office about), and will miss the game against UDubs, another rivalry match.

This season, the Elven Fleece goes into TCU's Trophy Case. We look forward to a chance at winning that back.

Season 35, Game 1 - OoC + *RIVALRY*

TCU defense trumps Hawaii offense

Season opener for TCU playing against their new rivals, the Hawaii Warrielves. QB Alex Denton graduated last season, but with Mike Collins the Horned Rats have already found a solid workhorse to replace him and support new #1 QB Justin Rogers. On the other side Zach Daniels is collecting one passing record after the other, so an offensive firework was to be exepected.

Hawaii selected to receive and scored quickly after a pretty flawless offensive drive. The Horned Rats offense started with a stutter, but they recovered and scored with some turns still left to play. Then happened what soon would become known as "The Throw-Away". Zach Daniels sees an option to pass the ball downfield to a waiting receiver, but "somehow" the ball lands in the hands of TCU's Mike Collins, the first pick in the carreer of Mr. Daniels. So at the end of the half, what should have been a 2-1 lead for Hawaii turns into a 1-2 for the lucky rats with them also to receive after halftime.

TCU decides to extend the lead quickly, but has to burn their timeouts in the process. Hawaii plays for the draw now and scores in Turn 6, with 2 turns left for the Warrielves to equalize. But the Horned Rats play it safe, falling back deep and luring the Elves to follow. Zach Daniels, who's playing defense now, takes a heavy but absolutely legal hit that makes him walk off the field, and Justin Rogers throws the ball deep to a now open receiver. The catch is made, the GFI's succeed and it is 4-2. Hawaii's "One-Turn"-attempt is once again destroyed by a superbly playing defense, that realizes a blitz! and covers all the zones.

The Horned Rats take home not only a win but also an impressive piece of Elven craftmanship, the Golden Fleece of Hawaii. It is a beautiful banner of golden fibre that shimmers in sun light and makes it look like the motives on the banner are actually moving. The Golden Fleece will be exhibited (and guarded by a highly decorated campus guard) for the upcoming campaign at TCU campus, before the Warrielves get another shot to win it back in Season 36.
