Whitewater. The saga continues.

In our first match, well, the block dice were with the Warfrogs. This let them get a decisive 1-0 lead. Then Heshel scored a phenomenally unlikely score involving multi-tackle zone hand offs and dodging through diving tackle. So we tied it up 1-1. Then the Warfrogs.. well.. they failed every 2+ roll required to win, but we couldn't score either. Thus, our rivalry was born. I had stolen certain victory (possibly even 2-0 or 3-0) from them.

Our second match, the block dice came back to Ottawa. We also bribed a wizard to join us for the match! Victory would be ours! And indeed, with such overpowering odds (nuffle said 'no' to everything the Warfrogs tried), we did secure victory!

Now, our third match. Ottawa was here to prove, yes, we could take everything the Warfrogs could dish out!

But, our last match, Brandi West, the beloved cheerlea-er-wight who was sponsored by none other than the amazing STARR! she was .. seriously injured. Starr has been at the edge of her bed every day and every night since that match, begging her to wake up. And this, sadly, was very clear in his actions in the match today.

The team had rallied behind Starr! They were, well, devastated is the wrong word - Brandi IS fairly annoying - but they were something, and they also wanted to give back to the cheerleader who had given so much to the team. When the match started, the shifted at the last possible second, in a Perfect Defense! This let Starr have an open field to go and try to crush the only Warfrog catcher in their backfield before they even picked up the ball! But instead.. well.. Starr took *shifty eyes* a conservative approach. He simply smashed into the closest catcher, and couldn't even put it on the ground! Then Starr was promptly hit down by a mere Slann Blitzer. The great Starr.. gave up. He couldn't move. The frogs hit him, booted him, and smashed into him, and he was removed from the pitch. In his abject misery, he refused to wake up at the half despite the rest of the Ottawa team heroically preventing the Warfrogs from scoring - it was 0-0! Starr! Starr! Starr! The crowds were frantically chanting for him to come back! But, he was despondent. He fled, not only the pitch, but the whole stadium, back to Brandi's side!

The crowd, of course, were furious. They threw a rock and stunned the mighty Mummy Arnaud Weck!

And that was the second half. EVERYTHING WAS A STUN. Ottawa fouled, and fouled, and fouled, and fouled, and fouled, and fouled. They hit and punched and bashed and blitzed. They covered the ball and tried to remove all the Warfrogs - but with little success. With only 2 (eventually) 3 Warfrogs injured, and dozens of agi 4 Slann waiting desperately on the bench to wake up, Ottawa had no choice but to ignore the chants of Starr and hold on to secure victory without their mighty leader.

The coach had other reasons. STARR WASN'T IN THE STADIUM! If the team scored early, he would have to explain himself to the ref!

Then, just as the time counted down, and Ottawa was forced to score or forfeit their win, STARR CAME BACK!

AND IN HIS ARMS, HE CARRIED BRANDI!

The crowd went WILD! More stones sailed down onto the pitch, stunning warfrogs, who could not even attempt a one turn touchdown; half their team remained hiding on the bench, seeing the riot that was starting as Starr and Brandi triumphantly marched onto the pitch, almost violating the clock and getting a penalty for having not 12 but THIRTEEN players on the pitch!

The game was all but forgotten. Starr and his beloved Brandi were back. He earned so many MVP nominations, no one even bothered to look at who else the coach had considered (in fact, the coach wasn't even going to nominate Starr after he fled the stadium, but he wisely never mentioned this to anyone.)

1-0, and just the triumph the team needed going into the Conference plays of the season.

Ottawa is coming. Starr is coming. And his right hand, Brandi, will be right there with him. And the whole team is behind them. This year, STARR IS THE BIG BEAST.

Thanks for the match rodney_dangerfield!
