“Game 2 of In-Conference Play - Game 5 overall

BYU looked to stumble a bit out of the gate, and Hawaii tried to keep the Cougars in front of them, but to no avail. 1-0 early in the 1st, BYU.

Hawaii received, and managed to push quickly down the field, tying it at 1. It looks as if there was a good chance it would be 2-1 BYU by the end of the first, but Hawaii pulled out some serious shenanigans, and turned the play right around, scoring at the halftime buzzer, 2-1 Hawaii end of the 1st.

Hawaii looked for just the right play in the 2nd. Time was ticking away, and they finally got their opportunity on a long pass from Zach Daniel to Mekel Ealy. Hawaii attempted to cage around Ealy to buy a turn (they couldn't score anyway that turn, as they were out of movement), but the Blitzer for BYU with Hypno-Gaze landed a beauty, and the Block/Tackle Lineman came through with a 1d POW. The ball was recovered by Hawaii, and tossed casually to a rookie Lineman waiting in the end zone. The throw was accurate, but he dropped the pass, forcing it into the crowd. They threw it back in all the way on the end at the feet of BYU's AG5 player for a walk in on t6. 2-2.

Hawaii received with a Lineman and Zach Daniel in the back. They flooded both sides. The receivers got covered, and Zach was even 1d blitzed down. He managed to get up, and find an open Lineman for a long pass. The Lineman scrambled up and handed off to the waiting open Penei Pavihi, who walked in for a 3-2 nailbiter.

Zach Daniel is now, thanks to his 46 yards in this game, the all-time NCBB leader in Passing Yards for a career. He also moves into a tie for 2nd place all time for Completions with his 5 this game, trailing only fellow Warrielf Cole Brownholtz.”
