NCBB- Season 36
Week 3 - Out of Conference

The final stop of the Darkside Tour brought Miami face-to-face with the Deaf Bulls of Gallaudet, just in time for both teams to be caught in the pouring rain. Gallaudet lost the coin toss, and Miami elected to kick, setting up conservatively while the Bulls committed to the LOS. The ball was kicked all the way into the endzone, but successfully bounced towards the LOS, coming to rest along the sideline. While the ball was in the air Miami did their best to blitz into Galladet's side of the pitch, laying a hit along the way. The Deaf Bulls retrieved the ball with their legendary Bull Centaur, Joey Mendis, keeping the ball in their backfield. Miami made a hit on Joey and the ball, but only managed to push him backwards, after which Joey dodged out of coverage, heading to midfield. Shaking off the defenders as though they were flies, Gallaudet marched towards the goal line, even shrugging off a direct blitz, and stomping through a diving tackle, and into the endzone to take the lead 1-nil.

Just as Miami we set to take to the pitch on their offensive drive the rain began to let up, and the clouds started to disperse. Taking this as a sign, Miami came out swinging, but fould little success. Gallaudet swung back, injuring a Kroxigor. The BallHawks kept the ball securely in the backfield while attempting to get a player within range of the endzone, successfully getting two of their blitzers free, before throwing the ball between both players. Gallaudet had to perform a quick turn around, getting within range to mark the ball, but Miami blitzed the defender from the ball before making the pick up, and tying the match 1-all. The BallHawks kicked the ball to Gallaudet once again, but there was only enough time for both teams to throw a few more blocks before the whistle blew, ending the first half, 1-all.

As Gallaudet kicked the ball to open the second half a rock was thrown by one of the fans, striking a chaos dwarf, while Miami throw some blocks and secured the ball. Both teams attempted to push the other out of position, but ultimately it was Miami who managed to get two of their blitzers free from the scrum, before getting three additional linefrogs free, and again throwing the ball into their midst. The Deaf Bulls gave chase, but Miami made the pickup en route to the endzone, taking the lead, 2-1.

Gallaudet received the kickoff and collected the ball, moving slowly into the Miami side of the pitch, while Miami chose to advance and put pressure on the ball carrier in the backfield. Walking around the defenders, Joey moved to midfield, where he was standing, all alone, when a poor block ended Gallaudet's momentum. Miami marked the bull, but a failed dodge cut short the easy sack before the blitz could take place. Gallaudet then played it by the numbers, pushing the ball forward and fouling the largest threat, as the Miami counter failed to get the ball out of the hands of the Deaf Bulls. Gallaudet's closing play was a chain push, securing their path to the endzone, tying the match 2-all.

Good game.
