“In the OWA's 12th match this was the first time we had played an opposing race that we had faced before. Though this Undead side was more of a challenge than those we met on our debut. (At least this lot didn't kill off our Blitzers!).
After a quick snap we got rolling in to their half of the pitch. We switched sides, helped by Gisrek smashing a lone Blodge Ghoul's hip. We kept moving and Jones eventually made his move for the TD.
A Mummy cas'd a lino on the LOS as they started their return drive. Just as they setup a flank move they took a reroll to smash down a Dwarf near the sidelines. A blockless Mummy then double skulled and left their carrier exposed! What a moment. Gisrek failed to down a zombie, which meant we didn't have a Tackler flee to blitz the Ghoul. But our Human Sergeant and an assist were available to take the hit on. Alas the big moment was only a push. The Ghoul was blitzed free, rushed forward, made a handoff to a Wight and it managed to avoid stumbling at full speed and score the equalizer. A quality escape.
In the remainder of the half another Ghoul was cas'd, this time by a OWA fan thrown rock. Our Sergeant let us down again when he skulled our LOS chain attempt. Jones was also knocked down and then fouled by a lone zombie, who was rightly sent off the field with their coach.
The second half was a more cautious affair. We had an extra player and the Undead were holding around the centre. Gotrek took out a Zombie. But we didn't fully commit to the cage break as their Guard players looked tough to break, and we didn't want to leave space. So it ends 1-1.
After the match more Dwarfs learn to Guard for us!
