“Pre-game

As regular followers of L.A.D.S. will know they had seemed a little jaded of late. Struggling dispassionately through Winter, now this was the time to bring their A-game. The first competitive game since lifting the Cloth Division trophy, the most prestigious prize in all of CIBBL.

S.N.O.T. Sports Management took out an insure policy bringing in fan favourites Ripper & Kaboom to help steer the team to glory. Eager to see the team back in action, and chasing their 20th straight win, the fans could hardly be held back and swelled the starting squad to 22 players.

On the other side of the field 12 rather aromatic Skaven....it was going to be messy (literally and figuratively).

Kick Off
L.A.D.S. 22-12 Deluge-Bearers

The first half proved to be precisely as chaotic as expected. Kaboom earning his fee by getting L.A.D.S. two early scores with his bombing prowess. The Deluge-Bearers quickly replying with two critical fouls, including on the fallen Lump himself.

With their leader off the field, it was Ripper who stepped up with two more brutal causalities, including taking care of Pestil Snoutrot. Clart almost earned their first score for the team with a glorious bile chunder, but Xelk Prideborn was only temporarily incapacitated. Skip nipped over for the first touchdown of the day and the score gap was opening.

Outnumbered and seeking a quick reply, things got worse for the Pestilens rats. Fumbling a pickup out of bounds the L.A.D.S. fans were able to drop the ball into scoring range. Ripper again stepped up, launching Jimb down the field to scoop up the ball and hop over for another point.

27 to 14 at halftime, all was not lost for the Deluge-Bearers but their luck needed to change in the second half.

The numbers game made the second half a rather more tepid affair. Whilst the rats were able to surf the Cabalvision Sports Wagon, they weren't able to fully secure the ball in the backfield. Quickly swarmed by Snotlings, a risky passing attempt was intercepted by Eep who was able to trundle over for a 3rd touchdown. History almost exactly repeated with L.A.D.S. quickly swarming the ball carrier at pickup, and Guf eventually recovering the ball for a 4th. There was little the Pestilens could do given the imbalance of numbers on the field.

So there it was in emphatic style, the 20th win in 18 games. The L.A.D.S. go marching on!
