BB2020 Game 4 - Black Orcs

Defensive struggle where we felt pretty outmatched but managed to escape with a draw, which felt like a win given the tackle and block beating we took. Felt like the Chaos Dwarfs were firmly in control the entire time. We lost our troll the first block of the game from his block Mino. Early in the second half they made a break-away attempt with their Bull, but we managed to catch it with a trailing black orc and then a scuffle for the ball for the reminder of the half left the game 0-0 going into half. Second half they lined up very aggressively putting all their players on the LOS except the hobgoblins. Managed to remove the bull and get a few stuns, but lost both re-rolls in the process. A very deep kick and me not counting out squares correctly ended up with my ball carrier getting blitzed into our own endzone by a hobgoblin - just lucky he didn't fall. Scrambled to get back, and managed to dodge out, but it was basically a mad scrum from then on. Had one break away chance after two block fails by the mino, but I never actually had the distance needed to make the score. We ran and were caught. They had a circus shot chance of scoring to a hobgoblin that was in range, but chose instead to mash for the final turn. A very mistake ridden game where I saw the great value of block and tackle.

Tactical Takeaways
- Question 1 at the start of a turn: Is the ball safe? Have a plan for keeping the ball safe. In almost every instance of this game I did not have the ball safe. I got so dialed into blocking that I often forgot about what the plan was until all the moves had been made.
- Vomit will only knock down if the following armor break is successful. I did the action on his mino and it was successful but was surprised when he was still standing. That means that this skill is best used against low armor targets or when you have no chance of being successful on a normal block anyways.
- Start to consider how far you need to go to score throughout the drive. Especially with Black Orcs if you start considering this only in the final 2-3 turns you likely won't have enough speed to get there.
