My computer is struggling today, so I'm going to run on memory. I'll update as I can.

First, let me tell you, you did at least as well as could have been expected of a relative newcomer. You'll be fine. Wood Elves are hard mode in this edition; you can totally win with them but only if you're lucky and/or good. They used to be borderline-dominant, but it's been awhile, and the new edition really gave 'em a good nut-punch.

If you continue the Wood Elf mold, try it without many positionals. I recommend starting with 10 Linemen and a Thrower, plus three Re-Roll counters and six Dedicated Fans. Your first few games might be rough, but that's okay, your SPP will fall on the players who need it, rather than on the ones who hog it. Also, a rookie Wardancer already has the two best skills he could have, anything else is just gravy, while for a Wood Elf Lineman, you're paying a steep price for an AV8+ speedbump, and the exchange value is all in potential: high stats that stack with skills, and good skill access to boot. Take advantage of it!

I messaged you what I'd have done differently in the opening setup on Discord. Basically, I would have swapped the Loner and the Wardancer, and put the 3SPP and 4SPP Linemen on either side of the pitch rather than both on one side. I'd also have used the 4SPP Lineman to throw blocks, because if he gets a Casualty, it's a chosen primary or random Strength skill.

In terms of your first turn, I mean, you kinda got unlucky with the kickoff result, but you also kinda took the bait. I was waiting for you to commit with the Wardancer, especially when you ran yourself out of rerolls. I wasn't expecting him to skull out, but even if he powed, he's in position to go for a ride.

Speaking of which, a) 2 re-rolls is bad news, which is part of why Wood Elves are so hard, and b) don't burn them pointlessly. The first one was fine, it was a 2d block, your turn wasn't near its end, failure would test your 8+ armor. The second one was on a pickup. I wasn't near the ball. You had Pass and PA2+. All your other players had gone. You could have just let it bounce.

More to follow.
