Losing the kickoff, the bashed us first turn. We then had a plan to remove Saurus by 1) chain push, then 2) dirty sneak foul. Neither worked.
My expert opponent easily positions around us using speed and strength. We get bogged down, and easily scored upon. We have three turns to use, but there is no chance in my estimation- we do not have the players to push up a sideline to handle all the strength and speed, and would only risk death spiral.
For the above, my opponent was surprsied, so I do wonder if I make wrong choices here. My mind just cannot see how it could work. Risk is removal of key players, versus very small chance to avoid blocks, and take high risk dodges to advance.
2nd half we cannot gain momentum. The Officious Ref makes sure we cannot use our best player, and we make no difference on LOS blocking. Turn 3, I can see the game is done. We cannot advance safely in any way, shape or form to my identification skill level.
We potato, although I know it is wrong, but there is little choice. We are easily sacked, ball recovered by skink, and we are scored on. T7 we manage a casualty, but it is far too late now.
My generous opponent offers the advice as follows:
1) Not always best option to blitz skink with MB Tackle wight. I look to this in my replay for better options. I like the possibility of removal, especially as I cannot look to foul a Saurus.
2) Surprise in not going for 3 turn touchdown. I assess the risk reward. Recently I am too greedy and lose. Maybe today I am not greedy enough? Must find middle ground.
Learnings... For the first time I very struggle with what it is? This game, I am never in a nice position. I cannot attempt to be bash team, or dash team, or hybrid team. I am outclassed in every aspect. Out positioned by my opponent, cannot keep to speed of team, and cannot find favourable blocks, or make them stick.
I feel there is something basic from set up or early positioning I have made wrong. Perhaps some of my plans requiring a knockdown should have been re rolled? I am unsure- greed is often not rewarded.
Well played SoySaucy. I am sorry I could not give you an interesting game. Good luck for the Grotty Tournament. Please do win so I can say I had the pleasure of playing The Champ.
EDIT
I now look at statistics, and cannot believe I have 'WON' bash war with more blocks and cas. It is obvious that there is something deeper to the game that I have failed to understand. Most likely it is positioning and poor choices. C'est la vie. ”
