1. Big Man on the LOS. There is logic to putting the big guy on the LOS, but the auto-pilot decision to always do so is not sound thinking. Turn 8, or if the opponent has a Claw MB Yhetee, just need to be thoughtful about these situations. This game I went into that auto-pilot mode and got the Ogre KO'd for no reason. It ended up playing a big part in the game the second half as we got routed in the bash war.
2. Elves dodge and Pick Up on a 2+. Seems fairly obvious, but I made a huge commitment to go for an open shot on the carrier, and after I got the ball out, I wasn't willing to push further to actually potentially capitalize on that advantage. My mindset was that I had already used 2 re-rolls on the turn and a 3rd would've been too much. I actually think that given how far I'd gone already I might as well have tried. Instead, I used all those resources so my opponent could 2+, 2+ to get completely out of danger with built in re-rolls.
3. Defense vs. Elves Down Men
Very difficult to put up a defense vs. Elves when you're outnumbered, but I felt alright about our screens. It did necessitate an uncomfortable amount of dodging, but just mashing in felt like a battle we were sure to lose. ”
