#6 Lyla Commander of Zharr – Serious Injury (NI)
#8 Rafael Jezreel – Serious Injury (NI)
I had two opportunities to push the ball carrier into the crowd in the first half, but both were really risky.
A -2db block against Zug... if I could have gotten something that resulted in a push, I would have been golden. The poor beastman who tried will be missing the next game.
Got a second 1db block on the carrier against the sidelines which required a 3+ dodge and two rushes. Nuffle was with me for that one, and yeah, the crowd threw it well... into a greybeard's tacklezone, but I successfully cleared the route to recover the ball.

And while Nuffle decreed that I'd be down players... it permitted me to elf it up a few times too.

Zug was the star I most feared you'd hire, so that probably means it was the right choice. I also feared Karla would serve as a ball carrier and I wouldn't be able to pull her down.

Tactical Takeaways-

1. Ball Secure, Numbers in Favor, Free 2D Block Given on Carrier

Just a mental lapse, not sure. I knew the Warrior was in position, but I instinctively put my carrier right in a path of a free blitz. I believe that time was starting to rush me. Either way, just poor positioning that took away a very strong offensive series. I was once told that when playing defense if you're patient most players will create the openings themselves by making mistakes on offense. That was this one for sure. Worse, the bounce out of bounds set up a clear run-away lane for a lone warrior. We tried our best to pursue, but it wasn't meant to be. Just needed to be patient and realize we were already in such a strong position and didn't need to force anything.

2. Defense with Numbers Up, Couldn't Capitalize

We were in a very advantageous position for the 2nd half, but the opportunity presented itself for a 2D blitz with Zug on the carrier that required a rush. I didn't see any better path that wasn't a 1D blitz. I could've marked up a bit to brace for the possible failure, but I wanted to be in position to recover the ball after the fact. Rush failed, Loner Re-roll failed, Stunned. This was around Turn 6, so the opponent was able to recover and run out the clock. I had some last second final attempts, but again, not meant to be.

3. Mighty Zug

I rarely play games down this far in TV, so the process of picking inducements was relatively new to me. I could've gone with a Wizard and tried to find something for 70k, which wasn't much, or taking Karla or Zug were the next logical choices to me. Karla seemed fine, but I wanted something to really be able to try and even out the Strength disadvantage we were facing. This really ended up being the case. He was quite effective. Early on, I did put him in a bad position following on a block that I shouldn't have. Luckily he made it out with stuns.
