The squad still recalled our last confrontation, a bloody fight with little concern for the ball which ended in a 0-0. A great game in the eyes of Khorne !
I hired the usual wizard for the game, only because we need it to counter their cheating hypnotic magic !
The Legion was preparing to receive when the fans invaded the pitch. A vampire was beaten, and some of our fans descended upon Ingugan to show him their violent appreciation.
We still secured the ball easily and the team advanced in sync with the daemons' hits.
Aghond, Bringer of Death, almost killed Sir Nightshade Bloodbath but the vampire was determined to fight and regenerated from his injuries.
The pressure from the vampires was continuous and on turn 6, an ineffective foul from Mortedax allowed a grave guard to hit our ball carrier Elaraz. The hit was successful and Elaraz was down. But Mortedax was eager to redeem himself and caught the bounce of the ball ! His mates battled to clear the way for him and he managed to score on turn 7.
This left the Guardians two turns to score. The kick was near the line, on the weaker side for the vamps, but the ball was immediatley secured with a good catch from a thrall.
The thrall bravely walked alone in our pitch while two dragons put themselves in td range.
Rhardrak reacted quickly and surfed the poor thrall towards our fans. The ball was unfortunately thrown towards our endzone, but Ingugan managed to take it from the ground !
Alas, it was not enough to stop the miraculous charge of Sir Bedardic Bloodtooth . After a heroic blitz, he broke free with the ball to score with the focus of a pro.
The teams came back for half time 11 vs 11 with little damage apart from Cinoth Flameflayer still injured from a hit from Aghond, Bringer of Death.
The Guardians were ready to fight, and Walach was left almost alone to handle the kick.
With little protection, he stayed behind in his own pitch while the fight was going strong in the middle.
The warriors of the Legion patiently waited until he approached our line on turn 3.
BOOM ! Our magical friend blasted the poor sir and the ball was loose.
Elaraz was just in range to pick up the ball, and this time, Buldaot's boot was enough to stun the vampire.
A desperate zombi blitz was not enough to knock down Elaraz and he managed to slip away with the ball. Outpositionned, the vamps couldn't threaten him and he just stalled to score on the last turn of the match to assure our victory.
2-0-2 and a guaranteed third place for the tournament of the Council of the 13.
An okay run, especially with the first official triple X and the recognition of Aghond, Bringer of Death as a star of the league.
