Fresh off the excitement of their opening victory, the care-free Lizards would have arrived to the next game full of confidence were it not for their opponents being a very competent Dark Elves side. The first half went much as expected with the Elves dodging their way up the pitch for a turn 8 score, with the only attempts made on the ball performed by two heroic/suicidal skinks. The Saurus blockers managed to make a few armour breaks but nothing that stuck, meaning both sides lined up with a full 11 to start the 2nd.
A good turn one to start the 2nd saw Brian Denast catch the ball on the full and an Elf removed from the pitch. Some loose play followed where the elves managed to sack Brian, but a couple of surfs saw more elves removed and a couple a dodges allowed Camille to score in the corner turn 7.
The elves made a good fist of an unlikely winning score but came just short and it finished 1-1.
Can the Lizards make good use of Madelyn Porchos' newly honed blocking skills in our next outing? Time will tell!
