Like an evil omen for the game ahead, the healer of the team took of with an elven seductress(obviously hired by the opposing team). To make matters worse the apothecars aid was direly missed right at the start of the game as Ratogre(a lineman), a true veteran of the tails, suffered a mortal blow dealt by a greennose line elf. This invoked a strange reaction in Basil, the rat ogre of Tails. Where as a normal ogre would have proceeded to break elven bones in vengeance, basil stood still, wailing and roaring, disabled by the overwhelming grief for his fallen comrade. It had been noted before by the team that Basil considered Ratogre to be the baby brother he never had, but nobody realized it was the gentler side of Basil that the deluded Ratogre touched.

The game was a lost from the start as all players were baffled by the loss of Ratogre and the effective loss of Basil. The fresh elven team happily blocked and dodged, tossed and catched and the rats were content just to spectate the game in dispassion. The elven coaching was also very keen and inventive, even at their prime the Tails might not have been a match for this rising star. An utter and complete defeat. It was no wonder the fans decided that this game should cost the team a point off of the fanfactor.”
