“It was not Silently's day. Everything that could go wrong for them did, whilst everything went right for the Guardians.

On the opening kickoff, the Guardians quickly stole the ball and scored a quick TD, then blitzed on the next kickoff and scored in even quicker time.
The Silently were staring at a 2-0 deficit with only a third of the opening period gone (3 turns each).

The next kickoff saw the Guardians execute a perfect defence. The Silently were caught off guard and quickly found their backfield being stormed by the rampant Guardians who stole the ball and scored yet again.

The Silently coaching staff were very depressed and were heard to be talking about conceding and retiring the team (my poor opponent hadn't got a single SPP after 6 turns and I was up 3-0). However, they played on and made their first completion late in the opening period and then managed to pull off an end zone to end zone play that saw them score a redeeming TD.

The second half saw the Guardians start in offence and they quickly scored a 4th TD to put the game way out of the reach of the stunned Silently team despite the sudden appearance of rain to make the ball slippery.

The Guardians then used another perfect defence to pressure the Silently. A tense fight for the ball ensured, with both teams trying desperately to gain and keep control of the ball. The Silently got the ball very close to the Guardian's endzone, but the super agile Caladriel Stormbringer was able to scoop up the slippery ball and throw a long pass to line elf Lothlann Eaglewing who caught the wet ball despite the attentions of a defender, and dodged his way to a demoralising 5th TD for the Guardians, finishing a forgettable night for their opponents.

Poor Mnemon. Firstly, my Guard player right in the middle of the line of scrimmage and a classic 3-4-4 defence made it very hard for him to get very far, either he didn't get through to my backfield, or it was only with 1-2 players, and only one within range or possibly scoring so I only had to cover that player whilst I stormed his backfield over and over.

The kickoff results really favoured me, with a Blitz and two Perfect Defences rolls. I think I also Got the Ref in the first half, but fouling wasn't necessary in such a one sided game. He also rolled a 1 twice for picking up the ball which gave me plenty of time to rush him.

The second half was a much tighter contest.

The only bad luck I had was my Niggler getting the MVP. I was umming and ahhing about firing his ass and replacing him with a Thrower or Catcher instead of a 3rd reroll after the last game LOL.
