“This turned out to be a one sided match in each half. The Lords of Ulthuan dominated the first period when the Guardians couldn't block, couldn't dodge, couldn't pass and couldn't catch. The could do nothing right (luck was at 37% after 4 turns, all 3 rerolls used, and the first casualty was a death on a player with a skill on turn 2 so the Apoth was gone too).

Over confidence by the Lords allowed the Guardians to blitz the ball carrier deep in defence and win the ball. A short pass with the super agile Caladriel Stormbringer was attempted, but lo and behold, the Lords Gelmir Eärfalas Gelmir Eärfalas intercepted the pass and this was soon converted into a score for the Lords.

The Guardians had a difficult chance to score a late TD in the first period, but failed a simple hand off and that was the end of the most pathetic half in the team's short history.

Trailing 0-1 and with the Lords still having two very dangerous (read Str 4 Block, another guy with Str 4 and a Tackler) so the Guardians played a tight cage and ganged up whenever possible on any stray High Elves.

This ploy knocked out two Lords players early, before the Lords knocked out two Guardians in return. However, the Guardians had the advantage tactically, and in a slow dwarflike pace, proceded to advance their cage upfield whilst constantly bashing the Lords players who were too slow to get out of they way. Finally, when the Lords were down to 3 players on the pitch (with 7 KOd), the Guardians scored the equaliser.

A very very tough match as my opponent had great luck against me in the first half when mine was just crap. Being behind and having to face his stronger players was very risky, so I played tight defence and didn't hope for a mistake that might not ever come. If I scored early, I might not get the ball off him again nor might not stop him from scoring, so it turned into a very ugly min/max blocking game. Very tactical, but dead ugly for AG 4 players.

Better a draw than a loss. Of course my SI -1 AV guy got the MVP.
