“There are no words to fully express the enormity of the luck involved in this one. The Freakshow took some early hits and were on the verge of being crushed close to halftime when Reverend Lovejoy took to the skies, being flung by Homer down the sidelines. After a few go-for-its, he was in the endzone and the Freaks were up 2-1 at the half.

After the half, the Broilers scored easily -- there was little the Freaks could do to stop them, given that there were only four Freaks left on the pitch.

That number was reduced to 2 -- yes, count 'em, two -- by the final kickoff with the score tied 2-2. A massive assault was put on by the Broilers, but Reverend Lovejoy was not to be denied. Surviving two successive rounds of three die frenzy blocks from the werewolf, he pressed on (helped somewhat by the fact that the blocks were pushing him forward).

There came a point near the end where it appeared that all was lost. The Reverend tripped and the ball fell from him grasp near the sidelines. Only a failed pickup by Death Scavenger the very next turn had the ball pop out right next to Reverend Lovejoy. He popped up immediately, scooped up the ball and scampered into the endzone. 3-2.

I don't say this often, but this is a replay worthy of watching if you have the time. It's 'The Little Engine that Could' in Blood Bowl terms...
