The pouring raid would have been a good explanation to the fact that the Guardians of the Glade couldn't pick up the ball, but a reknown export claims that with these ball handling skills the Guardians of the Glade couldn't have picked it up under perfect conditions. On the other hand the rain seemed to affect the Athel Loren Guardians dodging abilites and the game went into half time 2-1 for the Athel Loren Guardians.
The second half gave us mor of what we had seen in the first half, and a misscalculation by Elm the chances for the Guardians of the Glade were crushed as the Athel Loren Guardians took the lead with 3-1.
These teams will probably face of again in the future, and the Guardians of the Glade has sworn to have their revenge.

The teams were quite evenly matched with the Athel Loren Guardians having less but better skilled players than the Guardians of the Glade. However, the Athel Loren Guardians coped better in the wet conditions of the first half as they stole the ball in defence to take a 1-0 lead.
At the start of the second period the Athel Loren Guardians were up 2-1 but only had 10 players. This did not stop them scoring, nor stealing the ball again in defence to score a crushing 4th TD.
Both teams made numerous skill errors, and had difficulties in picking up and catching the ball, but the mistakes by the Guardians of the Glade came at more decent critical times.
The Guardians of the Glade have only lost twice in nine games, both times to their new nemesis the Athel Loren Guardians. Only time will tell which team truly deserves the 'Guardians' name.

It was a fun game, but frustrating at times for both of us. First half I failed three 2+ dodges with rerolls, the last allowing my opponent to score his first TD.
The number of 1s rolled by my opponent to pick up the ball cost him big time as then he did not have the reroll to make the catch, or to reroll the GFI and with my players spread out all over, I capitalised on every mistake.
Still, a good fun game against a friendly fun coach. Nice to play one that doesn't moan like a b1tch when a few rolls don't go their way :)”
