Bit surprised that i lost this one. 1st half ended 2-0 - partly thanks to some horrible ball-handling from the goblins and a stupid troll (the other stupid troll spent most of the game KO). Entering the 2nd half quite confident despite being somewhat undermanned I found that luck made a 180 degree turn.

It starts wth a bad kick resulting in his troll ending up with the ball which is fine. I finally manage to knock the ball loose around turn 4 and catch it with my str. 4 line-elf! I manage to knock his way free in the following turn and try to dodge away with another line-elf designated to catch the ball or at least cover it should the pass fail. He fails his dodge/rr and I find my ball-carrier standing right up against a nasty looking troll and he promply gets KO. The goblins swarm around the ball and as I try to position myself for a nice 2d block another failed dodge/rr occurs leaving the field far too open for my liking. The goblins had some problems getting my Blitzer down but they manage to stun him after three futile 2d blocks. The goblin with the ball runs towards the endzone and decides to make the 2 GFIs to reduce to 2-1.

Round 6 - i have 7 elves left on the field and everything is looking good. I make a short drive up the field and the goblins try to crowd around my ball-carrier - but a dodge-happy goblin fails his GFI and the ball is still in my hands and out of goblinoid TZs. I clear a way, move the ball and pass - and fail. We both have a turn left but it seems to my like the ball is too far out of reach of the goblins and I still have a good chance of scoring making it 3-1.
I was wrong as evidenced by the score - a blitz, 2-3 dodges, a pick-up, a GFI, a long-pass, catch and hand-off later the score is 2-2! I fail to score with 1 turn remaining.

It was a fun game and perhaps starting with an all line-elf team wasn't such a bad idea - they are all skilling up nicely now and I've bust bought my 2nd Blitzer. I just need to overcome the confidence that sometimes comes over me leaving me all to open.

See you around Kyyberi

#5 Stiffy Lipper – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#5 Stiffy Lipper – Broken Neck (-AG)
As I was getting ready for the game, it looked like a winnable game (not all games are counted "winnables" for gobbo team) as my opponent was short on players.

And as my opponent said there, it was almost impossible for my gobbos to pick up the ball. I don't know is it just me, but I think I saw the ToadSoap (what makes youe elves shiny and bright, as we know it) advertisement on their jerseys. Funny coincidence... ;)

So it was 0-2 on the half time, and opponent got Bad Kick. So I gave the ball to my troll to give him spp's for td. I didn't even expect to win the game without some miracles at the moment (ever tried to stop an elven team from scoring with goblins without skills?). But he just smashed the troll to ground, and took the ball. And then Nuffle finally started to smile down to me and I got the ball back and scored.

So it was 1-2 and 2 turns left. My hope was on the fumbled pick up, which never happened. So I just tried to put as many gobbos as possible in possible throwing lanes, in hope for the intercept. But my opponent just smashed one gobbo down, and had a clear lane for throw. But justice won and the throwing failed. The ball was about 4 or 5 squares behind the LoS in my half. I said to my opponent that "oh, I have a chance" and laughed. But my gobbos just pulled that miracle out, and scored on quite an elvish play!

And it was quite enjoyable to pull something like that myself, cos I have lost quite few games when my opponent does something like that.

It was a fun game, as always with gobbos. As long as none of them dies, of course ;)
