“It's said you never know what you have until it's gone...this game was a perfect example of that old adage. His team was barely "weaker" enough to qualify for a single handicap, and boy did it level the playing field, and then some! Morley's Revenge struck 3 of my 4 gutters, with one only playing one half and the other two (the useful two) sitting out all game long. Without the extra agility and speed they bring to the table, I was floundering. With even one more in the first half, I could've scored easily; instead, after a long, hard scruff, it was simply bad ballhandling which prevented him from scoring.

Second half, I have 9 rats to his 11 necro, and the ratio steadily got worse and worse. A failed catch in the endzone swapped a score for a crowdsurfing rat; the blitz which would've sent him surfing in return failed the opening dodge, allowing for another crowdsurfing rat. Eventually, he got the ball, and I could have tried to stop him, but by this point I was committed to surfing his str 4 wolf. He went on to win the game, but I got some measure of satisfaction at least. The fans enjoyed it enough to stick around, but apparently they'd lost all their bets on the outcome and couldn't afford to donate to the team as normal. Ungrateful gits...

The good news is it was a very hard fought, enjoyable match, despite the loss of two linerats, one str 4. He'd been niggled by a blasted amazon foul a few games back, and was playing on borrowed time, so his demise is a bummer, nothing more. The other rat had a habit of forgetting his armor for games, so this bum shoulder gave the coaching staff the excuse we needed to ditch him, too. Now we're in fighting trim, and with a rat ogre who has FINALLY learned how to block properly, we're ready for our next challenge!”
