“Norse, Bad norse.
The Psychotics were Kicked off the pitch by some POW-happy scandinavians.

Started the game with my customary ten players.
The Bold KO'd my front line, leaving me with seven.
Ouch I thought.
No.
In fact, i was never to have more than 7 players on the pitch again.

It was a proper block vs ag game.
The elves made their dodges, the Norse hit their POWS (no, really, so. many. pows), although heavy rain meant that even when the Psychotics freed the ball up, they just couldn't grab it.

A first half turn 8 score gave the Norse a 1-0 lead at half-time (my two remaining players were unable to stop Neri). The elves hit back with a 6 man three turn TD (despite their inability to pass - 0/3, 2 fumbles and a misthrow).

The Norse responded with a boatload more KOs, and a simple 1 (failed GFI, first roll) stopped me putting a TZ on the isolated ball carrier. BigMac made his classic 4+/3+ pass and catch without the need for rerolls.

2-1 to the Bold.

So close we came, my 5 brave dark elves, to that final elusive td. With fumbbl crashing all over the place, Jeran dodged his way to a simple 2+/2+ pass and dropped the ball at his feet.

A frenzied blitz put him into the crowd, taking the ball with him. The crowd helpfully threw the ball up the pitch to the Norse passer Hagal.

Only a fortunatly failed 3+ pass (with reroll) stopped us losing 3-1, although the Psychotics did have one last chance (multiple 3+ rolls beckoned) to score. Sadly, however, a hidden Norseman (bad sync) thwarted my plan before I'd even started the play, bringing a surprised Karhain to the ground as he accidentally dodged into trouble.

No Si at all (hurrah, first game), but the Norse cut through us like butter (I got one KO - yes, in your face Norsemen).

An enjoyable tight game though.
