“A training game for the Boyz who spent all game trying to get their rookie Black Ork Blocker Brakgor Headsmasher to score, and finally at the very end of the game, he did!

This strategy did cost the Boyz any chance of a victory as they lost the ball at 0-1 down when they could have scored easily with their Thrower instead of trying a risky hand off with Crusader players looming close ready to steal the ball. As it turned out, Brakgor did fail to catch or pick up the ball twice and an unlikely pick up and Long Bomb later (4+ pick up after some GFI, and -2 on the Long Bomb on a lino) the Crusaders scored and took the game to 2-0.

I think it was fair to say my opponent had most of the luck this game (apart from his apothecary failing on the RIP on his Thrower) as the luck readings suggest. I rolled a lot of pushes and skull/pows at a critical point and it looked really bad.

With the game already lost, I focused on scoring with that BOB and I did a crazy but fun play. I threw the ball with a long pass into the opposite corner for my players to try and run down, even though I had the ball with an AG4 Blodger and no Tacklers were near.

My opponent recovered the ball, but with limited throwing options, gave me an intercept with my AG5 Blitzer and he managed to finally get the ball to my Black Orc Blocker for the score. Yeah!!!

Overall, I had the cruddy luck that probably cost me the game, but it was fun and I achieved my goal (TD for rookied BOB) and more (he got a lucky cas when my opponent blocked him) so I am happier than a pig in sh1t!!! Only downside for me was a 120 SPP Black Orc Blocker getting a MVP which makes blocking risky, he might age and niggle in the middle of the GLT!!!

My opponent was cool to play against so overall a great day out for me. ”
