A first for the Dark Elves - victory over the dodging ladies.

In the first half we did no wrong. With the Buenorras unable to break into our half, we pressured and pressured, taking our time and keeping things simply - only 1dblocking with the blockers, only dodging with rerolls. We made pretty much all our rolls. Eventually we got to the ball carrier and freed things up. Two more patient turns and the protected ball carrier stormed in for a turn 8 score.

Kellogs had his best performance, adding two second half cas' to his first half td. Buenorras made things tougher for us, and although our offense made the score in two turns it was far from easy.

Some nice 2+ dodging and leaping from Teddy, followed by a 1dblock POW (a healthy 3 in 4 chance thanks to a reroll and block/tackle), gave us the ball back almost immediately, but Kroxy countered our healthy luck with some of his own as he dodged, blitzed, dodged, passed, dodged, caught, GFI'd and scored.

At 2-1 nerves set in and a truly awful offensive manouvre was begun that left Jeran wide open. Duly blitzed, the Amazons scored the POW they needed to take him down, and caged the ball up.

A pitched battle began, with desperate (and reroll-less) dark elves leaping and blocking the amazons. The advantage tipped back and forth, taking the ball with it, but just when all looked lost, a combination of Guard and Tackle gave us the 2d blitz we needed, and the ball popped loose. It fell awkwardly, but Teddy used his feared Ag5 to leap, grab the ball, dodge out and make the pass to the equally agile Sloth.

The amazons were in with a shot, still in scoring positions and hurling tzs all over the ball-carrying blitzer. But the dark Elves superior numbers - by this time it was 10 vs 8 - gave us the advantage. A couple of 2 diceblocks and we were only a 2+ dodge away from our third td. Sloth made it for the score.

A nice, tactical game - fast in the first half, oh-so-much-slower in the second (where every move counted) - against a quietly friendly coach. Our (billionth) 1 on the winnings roll was tempered by another +1 for FF. No skills, but Sloth and Kellogs are oh-so-close.
