Note, luck readings out as I pinged out in the first half just after scoring the first TD (and had to do it again!).

The Boyz started in offence, but found it extremely hard to move the ball forwards thanks to some great hitting by the Redhawks. Desperate to gain an advantage about a third of the way into the opening period when the ball was still behind the line of scrimmage, the Boyz tried a foul only to have the caught immediately by the ref and sent off!

This made the rest of the match difficult for the Boyz as they were down one player and they could not keep the Elves down. In the end it took a reasonably difficult play (2 dice blitz no Block, and then a GFI) to score the first TD of the match.

The Redhawks II had enough time to score a reply TD but the ball got stuck at the line of scrimmage after a missed pass was luckily caught by a surprised Elf and this was followed up by some inept blocking.

In the second half, the Redhawks lined up with 11 vs 10 and tried to exploit this by running down one side. The Boyz managed to stall this for a short while till some inept blocking (two double skulls in a row) allowed the Redhawks through to tie the score even though 3 of the Elves had been knocked out (one from a failed dodge).

The Boyz had half of the final period to score, but a blitz by the Redhawks II made scoring a difficult prospect as 3 Elves who were due to be flattened by the opposing line of scrimmage stole away from the bashing quickly, and were then in a position to play defence.

A good block by the Redhawks (one dice Pow) put pressue on the ball carrier which they exploited when the Boyz threw more inept blocks (yes another double skulls!).

The Boyz were confused by the awesome blocking of the Redhawks and tried some rather silly dodges (I shouldn't play at 5:30 AM when I don't see Tackle Zones as my Black Orc Blocker tried to dodge into 2 LOL), and then threw a pass they didn't need to which in the end resulted them drawing a very winnable game.
-------------
Congrats to my opponent who played well and exploited every bit of bad luck I had, which whilst not absolutely miserable, certainly sucked at times. My opponent didn't need to use a reroll until turn 6 in the first half LOL, whislt I racked up double skulls quite regularly.

In the end though, it was my own mistakes that cost me the game as I was still in a reasonable position late in the first half. Firstly, accidently dodging a Black Orc Blocker on turn 6 when I could have walked around to deliver an assist was costly. Instead of then having a two dice block with block, my target was able to dodge away and cause mayhem elsewhere.

Then thinking it was my last turn when I in fact had 2 turns! I ended up throwing the ball to a Black Orc Blocker who was 4 from the end zone, where that BOB could have walked over to give an assist to a Blitzer who could get a 2 dice block, and then be a better recipient of the pass (1 easier to catch) and then try and score the next turn. But the mistake meant the ball was thrown to the BOB instead and he was further away from my supporting players so in the end I did not have the numbers to win the ball back again.

So a bit of bad luck (but no where near as bad as my poor opponent in my previous match so I should shut up LOL) plus human error brought by tiredness let this win slip away.

Oh look, it is now 6 AM and I got to be at work at 9:30... better get a quick nap LOL.
