The Harolds of the Apocalypse come through for the first time in four matches! The Harolds were at first a bit apprehensive about taking to the pitch against the Tourney Mercenaries, as they eyed the grizzled looking line-elf sitting on the sideline sharpening the barbed spikes on his steel tipped boots…but the unlucky elf bent over too far while polishing the spiky bits, and strained an old back injury, which ended up keeping him out of the game!

The elves had some difficulty first half, failing dodges and GFI for two casualties (BH and RIP – apothed), and just missed a Quick Snap OTS Push play turn 8 to equalize, leaving it 1-0 at halftime for the Harolds.

Second half the elves performed quite well, but were too hopelessly outnumbered to accomplish much. The ball srtipping War Dancers did their duty admirably (after scoring on yet another quick snap/touchback combo to equalize), and in the end it was only the stalwart 4 time MVP Harold Brimstone who decided the game: catching two stripped and bouncing balls, once while in heavy coverage.

The bloodiest point in the game came when the wood elf lineman Poisoned Arrow gouged the eye of Harold Murder during a desperate attempt to get a tackle zone on the Harolds’ ball carrier – which caused the Harolds to wreak terrible revenge on the line elf, killing him brutally shortly thereafter.

All in all an amusing game, though rather one sided, leading to the elves being outnumbered all match. Still, it only takes a couple of wood elves (war dancers especially) to break any offense, and it was only Harold Brimstone’s able (lucky) catching ability who kept this game firmly in the Harolds’ hands!

Cyas again on the pitch sometime Candlejack!
