“The Rongdufs Boyz came into this match with superior numbers but the Chainsaw with superior nastiness. If it hadn't been for some idiotic play by Blade, who unnecessarily tried to slip past a player somebody else had covered, the first Rongdufs score may have been prevented and the result of the game more in favour of the Chainsaw.
As it was things went from bad to worse for the Chainsaw. What looked like a strong return of the kick turned out disasterously as the home side exploited a gap in the 'Saws pack and knocked down Razor. The ball fell into the stands, and somebody rumoured to be a cousin of Sta'nac thought he'd do us a favour by throwing the ball back into our half. Caught flat-footed and exposed, the Rongdufs Boyz flanked us and we struggled to get back. At least twice Tan managed to slip by but the ball was even slippier and subsequently the Boyz latched onto it to run in a 2-0 half-time lead.
Angered by the ineffective gameplay, the front row had been systematically inflicting casualities on the opposition through the first half. If ever a 2 goal lead looked vulnerable, it was now when the depleted Boyz looked worryingly at the copious amount of time left on the clock.
The second half was much more promising as the Chainsaw as they immediately followed the restart with a textbook rushed try. However the rest of the game was to be frustrating as the 'Saws could not muster the resources necessary to overcome a valiant defensive effort by the Rongdufs Boyz who held on to be deserved winners.
These are games the Chainsaw should win, and they'll need to play much better if they are to improve their morbid record.”
