“Mash were another team eager to face the Chainsaw now they no longer have star player Razor. Instead they were introduced to emerging star player Slice as he romped home a hatrick in another bloodbath involving the 'Saws.

The first casualty came early on. Camel the troll was so eager to smash his opponents that he could not really contain nor control his swing at black orc Goran. He leant back, throwing his fist forward at the orc only to hit his own jaw on the way through. It ripped off, flying high into the crowd, and the troll span around and dropped dead on the spot. The team apothecary, under pressure from a nervey Coach Colpotter, managed to find the bone and shredded skin in the stand, but could only offer it up as a mantlepiece to his boss. In the mayhem, Lucky Strike struck with a score.

The Smokers players looked desparate to avenge their fallen troll. They tore right back into the away team and to double their lead. It turned out the Chainsaw players had been told the troll had regenerated and were confused by his omission from the defense. Coach Chainsaw went out of his way to let them know the troll was lifeless and staying that way. Buoyed by the death of the troll, the 'Saws hit straight back to bring up a half-time score of 2-1 as Slice ran in his first of the game, combining well with Ballista despite the attentions of the home defense.

After a pacey Slice cantered home for his second, it looked like the Chainsaw might be playing for a draw. However a Chainsaw side unbeaten in their last three games, since the retirement of legend Razor, were full of confidence and seized on a gap in offensive lineup to bring down the ball carrier. The gap was there after Datha Solomon picked up Mac Baren by his groin and viciously broke the beast over his knee. Ballista picked up the ball and threw it onto Slice, who sliced down the yards to bask in the adulation of the revelling Chainsaw support.

With blood and goals aplenty it looks like a much more balanced Chainsaw team are becoming tough to beat in both meanings of the word.

Datha "Druid" Solomon was disappointed after the game, "Datha needed a troll skull. Maybe I glue it back together." Slice, given the MVP for his performance, denied his recent scoring success had gone to his head then ran off yelling, "Who da orc, who da orc!"

Rumours are strife that since Razor's demise, several large bets have been placed at the bookies against the 'Saws. When a depressed looking Coach Chainsaw was pressed on who he thought it might be, he said, "Um, well, whoever it is, and I don't know who it is, and it's not me, they really need to stop doing it because the lads won't be beaten at the moment. Can you spare any change?" So, to the anonymous ill wisher of the Chainsaw, perhaps it's time you started betting for the team on a winning streak!
