“We survived! Sure only 4 Elves remained on the field at the conclusion of play ... but the team is intact. The Maulers managed to catch 5 of the dodgey Stingers and mash them and had there been another half to play perhaps no Elves would have made it. As it was the Stingers won on the arm of Gabriel Riverwynde. He threw 5 completions for 25 and rushed for another 23. He set up nearly all the big plays and managed to dodge away in time from the Ogre blitzers.
In an effort to stop the Stinger rush the Maulers threw goblins at the Elves. Which worked on several occassions and sent WarDruid into the dugout badly hurt. I think it was him!
To be fair the Maulers should have had a TD but some gnome Illusionist played a cruel joke and convinced us all the ball was back in the Mauler half. (When the Ogres find you gnome you are dead!)
Twahnlow votes:
3 - Thrack Bonecurdler who despite only throwing 3 blocks took 2 casualties including a serious injury on Gladerunner. Your name is well deserved. Man am I glad you boneheaded a lot.
2 - Festy Boils, this little green guy deserved a TD for persistant ball advancement and a powerful kneecapping to get him a casualty.
1 - The Crusher, sent off for fouling but managed a casualty while he was still in the game.”
