After a career marked by lots of controversy and not much else, the fans finally lost patience with Wastrilith when she refused to play a game due to a chipped nail. Guards were bribed, teammates were informed, and supporters subdued. When Wastrilith entered her private changing room to get some refreshments before going to watch the game from the VIP lounge, a band of thugs with spiked clubs and poisoned daggers were waiting for her. She put up a brave fight, but in the end, an ex-corsair managed to nick her with his knife before she kicked him unconscious. She had dispatched almost all her assailants when the poison overcame her, and she went down in a fit of frothing and convulsions. Her head was promptly cut off, and her teammates carried it on to the pitch before the game and threw it to a lucky supporter who could bring a truly unique trophy back from the game. Or would have, if he hadn't been killed in the subsequent melee.
