One of the founding members of the Martyrs, Hignar was banished from his mountainhome for killing a nobleman's son during a drunken fistfight. The only reason he was allowed to live in exile instead of being executed on the spot, was that the patriarch of the noble house had to admit that "the way he punched his spine clean out of his back" was rather impressive in hindsight.
