Snark and his buddy Knut were never slaves of the Dark Elves. In fact, they were never anyone's slaves at all. They saw the Orcs wandering through the wilderness one day, and started following them, laughing hysterically at their weird names and ungainly attempts at "sivvilized" behaviour. The two goblins fashioned some haphazard Blood Bowl armour and came up with mockeries of Dark Elf surnames for themselves and began showing up for practice. When Hateshroud finally got sick of this, he snached Snark up off the ground and hurled him down the field in an attempt to kill him. To the entire team's surprise, the goblin happened to be holding a melon at the time, and when he landed in a heap in the makeshift end-zone, a lightbulb went off in everyone's head at once (a rare occurrence for Orcs). The goblins were then immediately pressed into service, becoming the Orcs' first paid recruits and the cornerstones of the team's offensive strategy.
