In season 6 several players were killed or maimed, bringing the team down to a level where we had the opportunity to bring on a free agent if Matt would retire.
Having taken injuries to both move and agility a long term prospect of getting a block ogre, when we were low on draft capital, seems a sensible way to go for the team. Cutting Matt also means that almost all the permanent injuries are gone, and a new chapter begins for the Viking franchise.
