When Freddie Mercury was diagnosed with AIDS he knew he did not have much time left. Seeing all the death and destruction that befell the journeymen linemen on the Champions Of Their Time, Freddie volunteered to take their place to avoid more needless casualties. Despite already being recognized as a Champion for his songwriting and performing, Freddie was given a special honorific for his selfless sacrifice.
